Proposal Submission Guide

Proposals for posters, 15-minute paper presentations (to be bundled into themed symposia), interactive panel discussions and symposia will be accepted until Friday, March 17, 2023, 11:59 PDT.


All proposals must be submitted online through the conference Dryfta platform. You must create an account on the conference platform to submit a proposal.


You can save your proposal(s) and return to them at a later time. After you have submitted your final proposal, you and your co-authors can still make edits through the platform until the March 17 deadline.



Instructions to submit an proposal:


  1. Visit the Research Conference platform: https://2023division45.dryfta.com/.


  1. Create an Account by clicking on "Create Account" at the top menu bar.

     a. Complete all required fields.

     b. Click "Create Account" at the end of the form.


  1. Once you have created an account, click on "Submit Your Proposal" under the Proposals menu item at the top menu bar. If you are not already logged in, you will be prompted to log in to your new account.

      Then scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the green "Submit Abstract" button.

                     

       Select your desired submission type and fill in the required information.



Required Information


Poster

Title: 10 word limit

Abstract: 200 word limit describing poster

Author Information: entered in "Primary Author*, Presenting Author^ & Co-Author Details" section. First and Last Name; Prefix; Degree; Institutional Affiliation; Current Position; Email. The first author should be designated as the primary author. All presenters should be listed as presenting author(s).


15-minute Paper Presentations

Title: 10 word limit

Abstract: 200 word limit describing individual paper

Key Words: 5 keywords which will be used to match with other papers to create a symposium. Examples: identity development, critical consciousness, emerging adults, immigrants and refugees, mentors).

Author Information: entered in "Primary Author*, Presenting Author^ & Co-Author Details" section. First and Last Name; Prefix; Degree; Institutional Affiliation; Current Position; Email.The first author should be designated as the primary author. 

All presenters should be listed as presenting author(s).


Interactive Panel Discussions

Title: 10 word limit

Abstract: 200 word limit - should include detailed topics to be discussed; sample questions; and a plan for including audience participation

Author Information: entered in "Primary Author*, Presenting Author^ & Co-Author Details" section. First and Last Name; Prefix; Degree; Institutional Affiliation; Current Position; Email. Each panelist should be listed as a presenting author. One panelist should be designated as the primary author. All panelists should be listed as presenting author(s).


Symposia

Symposium Title: 10 word limit

Summary of Symposium Theme: 200 words -  integrative summative abstract for the symposium

Chair: symposium chair is usually one of the presenters.

Discussant (optional): discussants are not required for symposia. 

Paper 1:

  • Presenter Name(s)

  • Presenter Email(s)

  • Title: 10 word limit

  • Summary: 200 words describing individual presentation

Paper 2:

  • Presenter Name(s): list names for all presenters by order of contribution

  • Presenter Email(s): list emails for all presenters by order of contribution

  • Title: 10 word limit

  • Summary: 200 words describing individual presentation

Paper 3:

  • Presenter Name(s)

  • Presenter Email(s)

  • Title: 10 word limit

  • Summary: 200 words describing individual presentation

Paper 4 (optional):

  • Presenter Name(s)

  • Presenter Email(s)

  • Title: 10 word limit

  • Summary: 200 words describing individual presentation

Symposium Author Information: 

  • Entered in "Primary Author*, Presenting Author^ & Co-Author Details" section. First and Last Name; Prefix; Degree; Institutional Affiliation; Current Position; Email.First and Last Name; Prefix; Degree; Affiliated Institution; Current Position, Email for each co-author. 
  • The symposium chair should be designated the primary Author. All other presenters (for each paper 1-4) should be listed as presenting authors.
  • Note that there is no way to designate which presenters/authors correspond with which paper in the author details section. Therefore, it is critical that the names and emails of presenters be listed under each paper section.


Additional Information

  • Author Information is entered in the section "Primary Author*, Presenting Author^ & Co-Author Details."

    • If a co-author has already created a profile on the conference website, you can search for them in the "Search a co-author by name" field. If they have not created a profile, you can manually enter their information.

    • Select the First Author of the abstract by selecting "Primary Author." Note: each submission may only have one first author, even for symposium submissions with multiple presentations. In the case of symposium submissions, we suggest designating the chair as the primary author.

    • Select the author(s) who will be presenting by selecting "Presenting Author."

  • While submitting and also after submitting your abstract, you will be able to return back to "My Dashboard" -> "My Abstracts" and edit your abstract, until the Abstract Submission Deadline, March 17, 2023.

  • Your submitted abstract should state "Submitted" under Abstract Status in "My Dashboard" -> "My Abstracts"

  • You and your co-authors will receive a confirmation email that the abstract has been submitted. Please contact us (see information below) if you did not receive the email.

  • At a minimum, the following participants are required for each type of submission to be registered for the conference:

    • Poster - at least one author

    • 15-minute Paper Presentation - first author

    • Interactive Panel Discussion - all panelists

    • Symposium - first author of each paper and chair of the symposium

  • There are no required presentation templates for this conference
